NVR Case
NVR Case for Drive-Through Monitoring
This was a project for CSI of the Southeast.
The Problem
They needed a way to cleanly mount their miniature Network Video Recorder to the back of a monitor that hangs in the drive-through bay of a fast-food restaurant, so that the drive-through operator could see on the screen the cars that were ordering and approaching the window.
The only previous option was to run a rather-expensive ethernet-to-HDMI connector half-way across the restaurant.
The Solution
This custom case was far cheaper to produce on the large scale that CSI needed. The case is printed in just three parts, and then assembled with the NVR motherboard and some bolts and threaded inserts.
The lid prints with the CSI’s logo on the top, as well as the phone number.
The case has a slot for the 10mm fan that came with the NVR, as well as intake and outtake vents
The case and mounting bracket are press-fit together with our own ‘macaroni’ connectors that prove a strong and hardware-less connection.
The lid is simply bolted on with inexpensive bolts.
CSI of the Southeast is still printing this design on their Prusa MK4 that one of our team help install.
